Need help... which rifle was it?

I recall reading about a Remington bolt rifle that was CRF... but can't find it on their website or remember the name.

Any help? Or was I just imagining things? I think it was manufactured in Czech Rep. or some former eastern block...

You might be thinking about winchester's crf wich is the extractor that rides along the side of the bolt. CRF stands for controlled round feed.

If you were going czech on a mauser action, i'd skip the remington model in a heart beat and get a CZ.

I like my CRF Winchester... though I have toyed with the idea of a CZ, mainly for access to more calibers.

The Rem 798 is basically the same as the Mark X Mausers Interarms used to import. Made in Yugoslavia. I have a 798 in .375 H&H that is decent. If you are looking to buy one check with CDNN, they had a bunch a short time back and might still have some.
