Need help with a budget build!

Hey gents. I'm trying to build a long range gun. i havent bought anything yet. im still saving up. i want to start with a remington 700 just for the barreled action. i will ditch the stock. this needs to be a budget type rifle that will still shoot good. looking at swfa ss scopes not sure what power to go with?
really like the chassis type stock similar to the XLR.
weaver 20 moa base with rings.

advise on what... sounds like you have it pretty much figured out...

Rem SPS Varmint 308
EGW 20 MOA base (you want picatinny, not weaver)
EGW rings
SWFA SS scope (10x mil/mil or 12x mil/mil)
XLR chassis (get a non folder w/o forearm rails, saves you $$$ now, and you can add them later)

i have a pretty good idea on what i want. just looking to see if there is something better that i havent seen yet or heard of.

i like the 12x mil/mil scope a lot and its in my price range.

any other chassis type stocks that maybe are as much? lance corporals dont get paid too much.

not that I know of... XLR is the cheapest chassis I know of, like I said, get it w/o a lot of options and add them later
