Hi All, I'm looking to use my Garmin Tactix7 as the ballistic solver and heads up display. I currently have a Fury 5000AB and a Kestrel 5700 Elite paired to the Garmin. When I range with the Fury my range shows up in less than a second and the watch displays the ballistic corrections. When I use the kestrel to capture wind speed and direction the info updates when the Garmin updates every 5 minutes. My question: is there a way to push that data to the Garmin immediately and not have to wait for the wind information to update every 5 minutes. The work around I've been using is to turn off auto update in the applied ballistics app on the Garmin and then turn it back on or enter the wind data manually. I thought since the kestrel was the AB model it would all work inside the AB ecosystem like the Fury, but it's not working like I think it should.

Ideally, Id like to range the target to get the yardage and DOF. Capture wind speed and direction and have it update the ballistic solver on the Garmin to get my elevation and windage adjustments immediately.

It seems like all the pieces to the puzzle are there, I'm just not sure this is the best workflow that's possible. I'm sure it's a setting I've over looked but I can't figure it out. I've called Garmin, Kestrel, and Vortex and Vortex said ditch the kestrel, Garmin said it's the kestrel not updating, and kestrel really didn't know much it seemed.

Hoping someone on here has it figured out and can help me out.

Thanks-

I believe its the limitation on either Garmin or Kestrel 🤷‍♂️

Remember reading this few months back and looks like this is the one solution

That's what I'm doing now. The Garmin folks said they don't have an option to change the auto update time....It seems this is better suited for a constant weather station application vs using it to capture info in the same manner the rangefinder works. Thanks for the replay, it's confirming the limitations I'm finding.

Dont have any experience with this. I think Frank did a review. But if you are using the watch, I think they have an app that might be able to link to AB.
