How light do you really need them to be?

I only ask because even "heavy" rings and bases are still light in the world of things. </div></div>

If you are trying to keep a rifle as light as possible every ounce counts. I had Warne Maxima steel rings and changed them out to the NF UL's. Saved 5-1/2 ounces. Did the same thing by changing a heavy brake with a light flash suppressor. I changed out my PRS stock. When I was done I had shaved off a pound and a half. Ounces add up when you are toting a rifle up and down big hills. To each his own though.

Its hard to beat the Nightforce UltraLight rings.

I used the NF UL rings on an EGW HD Aluminum base on my little 7-08 ultralight rifle. 6.7 pounds with NF 2.5-10x32.

Another + for Murphy precision, Cameron made me a custom 25moa titanium base to go with a set of his titanium rings, they were absolutely perfect
