I need a little advice on selecting the correct rings for my current set-up. I'm trying to save time and money by knowing which rings will work best. Hopefully, someone here can offer up some advice. Ideally, I would love to go to a gun shop with the gun, and scope, but, since there isn't one close that can help, I have to order online. Not knowing what to order, obviously isn't cost effective, and being new to the world of long range shooting, I'd really like to get on the range as quickly as possible, without going through multiple ring purchases...so, I'm hoping you'll cut out the trial and error for me. Here are the specifics...

FN SPR A1 24"

Falcon Menace 4.5x18 56mm. 30mm Tube Diameter

(I know there is better glass out there, but, I found one of these new in the box for a good price. I will eventually upgrade once I get better at shooting the rifle)

What I am worried about is the scope clearing the Barrel with the 56mm Objective.

Thank you in advance for any help you might be able to provide...

Re: Need some help please...

I Think what I'm after specifically is what height to order...maybe someone with this set-up, or that has 56mm on a rifle already...I know it can't be low, so I would need medium or high rings I'm thinking....anyone else?

Thanks again..

Re: Need some help please...

Can someone tell me the barrel contour of the spr a1 24"...I'm leaning towards high, but, wondering if I could do medium high. Is it 7 or larger than 7? The barrel contour...I have ordered the rifle, so I dont have it yet. Failed to mention that....

Thanks!

Never mind....worked harder, did more research, figured it out. I am good to go. Thanks for the replies. I can tell from the overwhelming response, a trip to the newbie archive was in order
