This is a completely random thread. I figured why the hell not. I think this is the right place for a random thread (The Bear Pit). If I am mistaken, please mods inform me via pm and delete. Here it is. We've tried searching Google, Yahoo, Bing, and every search engine imaginable. We've tried making phone calls. No answers to my friend's issue. This is NOT me, I swear, but my friend lost his I.D. Then he tried to go get his birth certificate from his mom's house, and it has been lost. His social security card was destroyed in a washer machine. Obviously he knows the number, but that seems to be useless. You can't get any one thing without the other two! Any suggestions for him?

Re: Need some ideas

You'll need to physically go to the Social Security office. I had to do just that when I needed a new card--they needed some info like my Mom/Dad's SSN's and I had to fill out a form but a week or two later, I had a new actual SS card in my mailbox.

I get asked this after almost every purse snatch or robbery case. The above quote is the correct information. Be prepared to wait a few weeks.
