Movie Theater Need some recommendations: films for young boys 1st - 3rd grade

And while we're at it... I know they are too young for books. But start them reading as soon as you can and get them great books...

Because if they grow up attached to screens... then they will never know the magic of printed words on paper...

I spend a lot of my downtime at work endlessly scrolling videos on youtube or listening to podcasts. Or here in the bear pit. Sometimes it just feels good to put the phone down and read a book. I think my brain actually functions better after reading a book.

I saw this Walt Disney special when they actually made great movies. It's based on historical events in Romney Marsh, near Kent England.

Walt Disney got his idea for the movies from the Novel, "Dr. Syn," by Russell Thorndike. The Disney movie is a great introduction to real history.

Hogan's heroes. Watched it after school in second grade(reruns of course). They need to know Sergeant Schultz.
I was 8 years old I guess when directTV was becoming a thing. Early 90's. On the TV land channel, I watched all the hogan heroes re runs, along with green acres, Mr Ed and petticoat junction. Watched plenty of the Andy Griffith show also.

I’ve noticed that sitcoms have entered the discussion. Might as well mention some cartoons that are age appropriate regardless of what the censors of the late 80s and 90s think. I’m talking about the originals, not the revamped/“updated” crap. Grew up watching these in the 60s and 70s.

1) Jonny Quest ( contains firefights, dangerous animals, monsters and other cool adventurous stuff that a boy eats up. I know I did)
2) Looney Tunes ( What’s not funny about an obsessive compulsive coyote, a Martian with little man syndrome and a big smart ass rooster?)

Yosemite Sam is my favorite. Foghorn leghorn is a close second place. They were all good lol.

I was in Singapore at the time from 92-96. My older sisters watched petticoat junction. They aired right next to each other.

Starting at 0:55 seconds in that clip, it is clearly Mike Pence flying the aircraft ("Race" Bannon).

LOL

Lots of great recommendations. As the son of a second grade boy, I came in to post (we watched Old Yeller last night!) and everything I wanted to post has already been suggested.

I also see some new suggestions for us.

Thanks!
