Need someone to install a Badger EFR...............

Anyone know a good vendor to install a Badger EFR ( P/N 306-59 ) into the fore end of a McMillan A-5 with a relatively quick turnaround?

You could just send off your stock and have the EFR installed. IMO its best to send out the rifle so the EFR can be centered up as well as possible. Things to consider: how straight is the stock inlet? How straight and parallel was the rifle bedded into the stock? I have seen the stars out of alignment a few times. meaning the barrel is going to be contacting the EFR or the EFR would be hanging outside the stock if it was centered on the barrel. Also need to consider the barrel contour. EFR has a 1.2" inch hole but you need some clearance around the barrel.

Short Action Customs did both of our department-issued rifles with McMillan A5's a couple of years ago. Turn around was very quick, and the work was top notch.

Moon at Crescent Customs just did a pair for me. He always does awesome work. Send the whole gun if you have a heavy barrel.

I'm with Mark Gordon on this. If you want it done right, send the entire rifle. If you ask a 'smith to just perform the work on the stock without sending the entire rifle, tell him thanks and call the next 'smith on your list. Stocks are rarely perfectly straight.
