I need help on using a set of Neil Jones dies.
I purchased these used about 3 years ago and am just now getting the rifle together to use them. There are 3 dies in the box: a Redding neck sizer and 2 other dies with micrometer type adjustments on the top. It appers that one is a seater and the other might be a crimper. I tried using them last night and had difficulty getting the bullet to enter the case straight. Out of 20 cases I bulged 8 necks. I didn't crimp any, as these are just fireform loads. I don't know if this is because the dies are 375 H&H Ack Imp and I am loading standard cases. After I fireform the cases this might not be an issue.
On the seater die; it has a set screw 2/3 of the way up. It looks like loosening/removing this screw will allow the die to separate into 1/3 and 2/3 pcs. Are there any springs or parts that will fly out when I take this apart??
