New 338ARC from Hornady…

Didn't take long lol

Dude needs help. I had read some FB post of his years back where he claimed that somehow tapered shoulders made it impossible for suppressor/brake misalignment with the bore (as if you can't cut a taper off center axis????) and I questioned if the dude was all there and that video and subsequent comments have removed all doubt on the matter.

Did KB accept an invitation to stand at the 1000 yard line while guys with 6arcs shoot at him? Seems a sure way to prove his point…

Not gonna lie, when I saw the notification you quoted my post, I thought it was in the non-Pit thread where I was dreaming about a 35 or 37 Creedmoor in the AR10 platform (kinda like a 375 raptor). This had me excited till I saw this is the Pit but the ARC claim is a pretty good second option haha

I went 3/5 on a 1/3 ipsc at 775y this summer but I guess since a 308 isn’t lethal past 600y then the ARC has no hope at 1k

I've got a lot of cool stuff drawn up... whether or not it ever happens..... No promises.

It'll be the new crudsnore due to NOTHING but Hornady marketing.
It is nothing new.
It does nothing that hasn't been done for the last 20 years.
But....it'll have millions of Hornady marketing bucks behind it.

I present evidence
Nothing but Hornady marketing ?

Good ammo availability. Bunch of rifles chambered in it. Accurate

Hornady is a gift to the modern day shooter

Maybe not if you love sitting on a stool all day reloading. But for those of us that want to shoot with our limited free time . . .

Go to create an issue to sell the solution.

Went to get some supplies for load testing and noticed right away the prices on powder and primers has made another big jump. Powder prices were increased by $10-$15 dollars a pound and primers were increased by $30 fricken bucks to $120.00 dollars for a box of a thousand.
I wonder how effective a "boycott" of some type would be.
They're straight up GOUGING the crap out of us.

Look forward to some thoughts, opinions, and ideas.

I'm with you there. Plus feeding a 338 "plinker"? Can't be cheap
Who cares about what it costs. If someone wants it they will pay.

want a lower powered 30 cal for use 200 or less? buy an AK.

The apples to turnips comparison. ;)

..a .338 plinker can't be cheap.... That was some of my thinking "back in the day" about the .338 Whisper #2, I'd no use for subsonic's, and tryin to push bullets designed for the .338 Win Mag fast enough to expand with .221 case seemed unlikely. Hornady can make this work because they can make whatever bullet they need to make it functional/useful.
