An acoustic trigger? Really?
There are 3 trigger options: (1) direct signal detection (default), (2) acoustic, (3) external sensor connected to USB port. You can select whatever suits your needs. Most users will surely stay with default direct signal detection. Option (3) external sensor, is suited for e.g. laboratory (test tunnel) environment or very special setups. The device gives you flexibility to choose.

Has the original AndiScan been FCC type approved, or even officially been submitted?
Is the CE certification self declared, or tested by 3rd party?
Distribution from within the US (not shipped direct from the EU) might even be against trade laws.
All this doesn't mean it's not a great device.
Sort of like the Beofeng walkies. Nice to have.

I'm only bringing this up as it is in the Armory section.
Would not be appropriate for me to comment in the vendor section.

What does this do better than the Garmin Xero c1 pro?
  • smaller size, metallic case
  • true V0 measurement with very high precision and short processing (<1s) .. see experiments on YouTube with 4 units measuring the same bullet
  • full remote control and live view over Bluetooth and USB-serial
  • flexible triggering choices - direct signal detection, acoustic, external sensor
  • highly configurable - 10 fully user editable measurement profiles with many adjustable parameters
  • large internal memory for measurements, any stored session can be reloaded for adding/deleting shots, non-volatile memory (can switch off in the middle of the session and then continue)

Nothing unless your use case needs one of the features it has that Garmin doesn't.

Now, if they gave a price in USD and I wouldn't be surprised at random customs taxes I might consider one.
But since they can't figure out how to get a few cases to a US distributor (how hard would it be to get a company like europtic to carry them?) I can't say I'm going to bite on a bunch of features that don't have any effect on my usage.

Will definetly stop by on IWA

One question , what is the effective range of the unit , does it work past suppressor , in the past the really small units like Andiscan and Bulletseeker were limited in that regard when weapon mounted.

AndiScan A3 measures a true V0, i.e. its measurement window is typically 0-2 meters downrange from the muzzle and its antenna of course must see the bullet once it leaves the muzzle (suppressor). The unit triggers by a direct signal detection, so once it correctly sees the bullet, it measures. A "normal" size suppressor should not be a problem. If it has abnormally large diameter and the unit is rifle mounted very close to the barrel and far from the muzzle, some signal shading may occur. But repositioning usually helps.

So, looking at your app, it appears your unit will allow series to be reopened and additional shots added. Is this correct? It is one of the more obvious limitations of the Garmin and this really comes into play if attempting to round robin diff loads during load development.

Yes, I confirm that the arbitrary series can be reopened and shots added. You can even "reopen" empty series of arbitrary file number. This way, you can easily control the file number under which the series will be stored. This can be used to assigning particular file number to particular rifle. Also, alternatively, the series can be labeled to easily distinguish which rifle it belongs to.

Great feature.
