Ok, i have been around the Hide for a few years now. I don't know if drinking and reading is messing me up, but whats the deal with some of these new advertisers here? For the love of god, It think i just saw one about ladies Shoes! Im trying to lay off the crack pipe but tell me I'm imagining this. I think i also saw one about Lysol! Frank are you expanding your advertsment portfolo?

Re: New ads on the Hide

Well the question would be ... did you sniff the lysol before you went shopping for ladies shoes ?

Re: New ads on the Hide

You may either have extensions that do ad hijacking to support their development, or your ISP may do so.

Essentially as a 'feature' they recognize the code that refers to advertisements being inserted in a common way, and every X time or Y percent of the time, they replace it with a same-size reference to its own ad network in order to generate revenue.

Re: New ads on the Hide

I got a virus called 'System Check' from an ad or an avatar about two months ago and in addition to seeing ads exactly like you're seeing I would get pop-up survey windows that looked exactly like the Hide website. Anyhow, after an epic battle over the course of month and trying every anti-virus/root-kit I could find and nearly trashing the computer I got rid of it and now... I'm rocking the Hide like Tucker above.

Re: New ads on the Hide

Amazon is now placing ads on Sniper's Hide based upon Lowlight's previous purchase history. So the women's shoes (for him), Weight Watcher's (for Captain Kick Ass), and air soft (for Rob01) just shows that Frank is stocking up on necessities for upcoming competitions.

I'm waiting for the KY jelly and multi-cam vibrator group buy.
