I sold my two LR rifles to fund this beauty. I wanted a rifle that would be perfectly reliable for forever, have no downtime in between barrels, and be tough as nails...
From what I read on this site, there were no other options. Thanks to Mile High Shooting for the great transaction and CS.
First impressions: This action is unbelieveable. Beefy, rock solid, smooth, virtually perfect. Folding mechanism locks up perfectly. Exceptional fit and finish. The most crisp trigger I've ever been able to yank on. Very nice 3pos safety. It took me about 14 seconds to realize why these rifles are known for perfect reliability under all conditions. After shooting m700's almost exclusively for seven years prior to this, I can honestly say there is no comparison, and I love[d] my remingtons...
Here's the pictures:
Before I even fired one shot from the rifle, she recorded her first kill. Makes a good club.
Shot in middle was the boresight, then a little three shot group (~.5"), minor adjustment, and a perfect zero confirmation shot. Didn't take but 5 shots to realize this rifle was nothing short of amazing. Also note that these loads were loaded for the .308 I just sold, so they are in no way tailored for this rifle.
Now for the fun part. Wind was gusting from 90* 15-20mph through 3 seperate lanes where I shoot. I don't like making excuses but the wind was tough today. Missed the target twice through this string of fire...once at 700 and once at 800.

Thoughts after day one:
-Is this rifle awesome? Yes
-Was it worth selling one custom, one semi custom m700, and a nightforce scope for? Yes
-After less than thirty rounds do I already have complete confidence in this rifle and what it can do? Yes.
-If your considering an AI, or think you'll maybe consider one in the future, stop considering and just buy one.
-I cannot wait to go shoot this bad boy again.
Thanks for lookin!
