My current AR 15 is set up as a battle rifle, pure and simple. It isn't special in any way. Just your standard Flatop upper with a 16" 1:9 twist barrel with a 6 position stock. With this gun, I only plan on shooting essentially junk ammo (minute of man) through this rifle as it isn't intended to be precise.
That said, I've recently bought a match upper and am excited to get this thing shooting tight. It's a 16" 1:9 twist Stainless Bull Barrel with free floating handguards, blah blah blah.
What is some good match grade ammo to start with so that I can find what she likes and start to imitate it with my reloads? I have a couple of boxes of Hornady 55 Grain V-Max and blue box BH stuff. I'd like to try some TAP, and I will when I can get some, but I'd like some recommendations on .223 ammo (it must be .223 as my new upper is chambered for .223 Rem and not .556 NATO.
For the time being I'm at 300 yards using a fixed 10x.
Any help would be great.
