Looking for feed back on potential 300 Win Mag build
- Action Surgeon Rifle 1086/R
- Barrel Rock Creek, 24", M24 contour, 1:10 twist, Fluted
- Stock HS Precision PST011
- Bottom Metal Badger M5
- Brake Badger Thruster (Removable if it possible)
- Optics S&B 4-16X 42mm PMII LP w/ P4 fine reticle, mil clicks

Go with the Badger FTE brake. It is more easier to take on and off.

I would change:

Barrel to Remington Varmint/Sendero contour
Stock to McMillan A3
FTE as dar said...it's mo beta looking too!

Why would you have him change the barrel from a rock to a rem? What would you gain from the change? Rock is as good as other top of the line makers? Just curious.

Ahh, makes sense. Not really much of a difference, are you really going to notice it? Any reason such as better harmonics, accuracy for some reason or anything else?

Only reason I ask and tagging along with the OP is I myself am planning on rebarreling in the spring and currently have a factory rem varmint and was planing on a Rock M24/40. Might help him out as well.

In my opinion it is too damn heavy! I've carried a few with the axle barrels and I don't see why anyone would want one that damn heavy.

It really just comes down to what you are going to do. I'd have one that was strictly for prone/bench, but if you are using or carrying it then you will get sick of it.

I think the thruster brake is the better choice over the FTE. plus it's just as easy to remove and it looks like an uncircumcised penis.

but yes you don't need much more than a Rem Var. contour on the barrel. Second the A3 McMillian stock

Yeah the FTE is a little large for the RV contour too, but I still like it. The Thruster is good looking too!
