New Chassis from MDT (Cross between ESS & LSS-XL)

I really dont hate the lss xl version on the savage stealth models. My biggest bitch is that there is very little material on the forend to keep your hands off the barrel. Looks like this version fixed that. I think it is pretty cool that mdt does these custom versions for big customers such as drake and now brownels

They'd be stupid to pass a deal structured to give them guaranteed sales over a set period of time. Once you ink a deal like that everything, from material procurement, to shop scheduling, to machine utilization, to burden absorption becomes much easier to manage.

Sorry to revive this old thread but does anyone have one of the MDT LSS XL Gen2 chassis deployed? I'm looking for a review as I really have the hots for this chassis to replace the stock on my Savage 10 FCP-SR 6.5 CM build up.

This looks like my choice but I have not found anyone that has rocked one to give me the skinny.

Thanks in advance!

I do not have any deployed but I ordered some from SDKMMC on his ongoing group buy. He was vary knowledgeable about the chassis and was able to help me select the correct options as well and discuss the features. Depending on how interested you are it might be a good idea to talk (or message) him while the GB savings are available.

I was referring to Modular Design Technologies (MDT) LSS-XL Gen2 Chassis: https://mdttac.com/products/lss-xl-gen-2-chassis-system?variant=154629406726

Unless someone with more experience chimes in, the MDT LSS-XL Gen2 is my choice for my Savage 10 FCP-SR build in 6.5. It's my first precision rifle and I'm learning a lot. But the factory AccuStock has gotta go. It's just ...not what I want. I need another $500 before that and need to put some rounds down range in the original stock.

Soon as the weather clears we zoom 100 rounds down range and see what it can do in it's factory stock.

I do love the look of the Gen2 and it'll take whatever butt stock (XLR Extreme...) and pistol grip ( Ergo Sure grip) that I find fits.

Has anyone used one of these?

Nobody has been running the MDT Chassis and has a comment? I'm freaked....I'm gonna buy one and mount it and shoot it.

I'll have a review and pix. Hard to believe no one has used a MDT LSS-GXL Gen2 and has a comment. I'll be the first at Snipers Hide! o_O

Thanks Dudes! This is enough encouragement to keep me after this concept. I'm gonna run a couple hundred rounds thru my Savage 10 FCP-SR 6.5CM in it's stock config. soon as the weather clears here i Illinois/Iowa and then move to an MDT LSS-XL Gen2 unless the stock it came with shoots like mad.

It feels...bad. The stock Accustock I mean. I need more right of the bat but I'll try it stock and see what I get.

I have the ESS chassis, and I am really torn between selling it or keeping it, with this new Gen2 version of the LSS-XL teasin me...

DK

May I ask why change from the ESS to the LSS XL Gen 2?

It seems the ESS is the premium product, what does the new LSS XL Gen 2 offer over it?

Thank you for the replies
