Thanks to CajunBlake as before (you all really have to check out Blakes Ragin Blaze Cajun seasoning - http://www.raginblaze.com/), hooked me up with Don Geraci, a Hall of Fame BR shooter, did my last rifle, a 6BR custom. Cannot wait to test this one, with a good scope, but too poor right now unless you good guys want to loan something to me

LOL.

Last but not least, Jim Borden passed with flying colors and let's just say this will NOT be the last Borden you see built from me, and that's a given! Bartlein folks again came through after a long wait - so much demand. www.greatscottshooters.com - Larry Scott took c/o my Jewell needs, best price/service I have found, will keep using him as well.

I know there are alot of great people in the industry, but Blake, is a true friend and a first class gent, and I consider Jim Borden, Don Geraci, et. al just the same, first class professionals who are a pleasure to deal with inc. personally.

Borden Alpine - very SMOOTH nice tight crisp action, just a beauty!!! Pinned Recoil Lug.

Bartlein 5C 8 twist, 700 Varmint contour Fluted by Bartlein 22.5" (could not decide between 22 and 23, but it handles and balances JUST PERFECT for me!). Ironically my 75 Varmint 260 has a bbl about the exact length and I hear they SHOOT.

Jewell with top safety, set IIRC 1.5#

Stock - XCR Compact Tactical ( (chose for fit, looks, like color, and proportion for bbl length) Don tweaked BBL/Action to Bedding Block for accuracy. Mfg. by Bell & Carlson IIRC, if not, it's HS-P.

I built this gun to be a test bed for accuracy for the '6.5-308 Win' as my first was done around 1996 and this go round I wanted full custom action, etc. It will be used at the range and for hunting, made with a bbl length/contour, and overall weight that I can easily take it hunting, whether in a stand, or in hand. It's portable as a factory XCR Compact, but I would like to think it's build quality is much higher! Has a nice heft, will steady in the bags, but a tad muzzle weight, Pre-Scope, so should level just perfect when mounted up.

I truly love this gun and cannot wait to range test it.

Re: New Custom 260 - Pics

Yeah, you don't really think there could be much of a difference in actions until you handle a custom.
Top-notch components and hunter friendly all at the same time,
it should shoot/hunt like a dream.

From the furniture to the Johnston and Murphy shoes to the rifle, you sir have some very expensive tastes. Nice looking rifle, now lets see some groups.

As soon as I can get a halfway decent scope, tapped out...

I hope to shoot it soon with perhaps a 6x until I can get a bigger scope for range testing. Updates will follow as able.
