In a word: BEAUTIFUL

Please post updates on how it shoots. I think I know the answer.

Does Jon have a web site? I did a bing search and did not find one.

Looks good, Buckey.

Agree with you, Jon does nice work.

And I bet it'll shoot, too.

He built one for me last year (.308Win) with a Brux, and it's a laser.

^This. When I'm looking at hunting rifles, I'm thinking lightweight all the way. Look forward to the range report.

Very nice! I have a couple of hunting sticks in the works at GAP right now, and can't wait to get them. I hope they turn out as well as yours!

Exactly what I was thinking.

Nice and simple...love it.

Thanks guys!! Scoping it up today & hopefully will be able to get to the range in the next couple of days.

Not sure what it weighs - probably in the 9.5# - 10# range

That's a GREAT looking hunting rig. Love that MCM dark camo pattern. What reticle is in your NF? My shoots a 7mm Rem Mag . . . I'll have to show him this. Your smith did a great job!

Re: New custom hunting rifle from Jon Beanland

I would not trust Jon Beanland to... just kidding, Jon has a set of parts for me and I can't wait for the build to get done. Jon sets the bar high, as evidenced by your rifle.

I have the mil-dot in my NightForce - my favorite reticle. An oldie but a goodie!!

My first NF was a mil-dot! Again, great looking set up.

Midway & Brownells sells after-market milled steel followers - they are a hell of alot better than the cheap-ass stamped aluminum factory followers from Remington!!!

Re: New custom hunting rifle from Jon Beanland

Middle of last yr when I sent him the parts for my 243, he had it built and back to me in 3 weeks. The times that he quotes are usually longer than the amount of time it will take to get it back. He is a hell of a good smith and damn nice guy to work with. He keeps you up to date and informed constantly. I would use him again for any build I was looking at.
