Just finished building and breaking her in.

Savage 12 F/TR .308
Vortex Viper 6-24x50 FFP
Badger Ordnance Rings and 20MOA mount

Going to the shoot up in Bellingham this coming weeking at Plantation.

At 300 yards shooting from a table I was able to get 3 shot groups at .63" using Nosler C.C. 168gr ammo.

My Fed Match LR primers and SMK168's just showed up in the mail this morning so I'm looking forward to see how those do.

100% factory - nothing modified, "built" in the sense of acquiring parts and putting them on the rifle. Just added harris bipod, badger ordiance rail & rings, and vortex viper pst 6-24x ffp scope.

Why you busting dudes chops? It's NEW to him! Good FTR gun man,and good luck @ your match.Hope you spank everyone that talks shit about your stock,"Build"! That gun will hang with any .308 out to 600 if you sporting a 12twist? Now @ a G.. the boys with the 10twist will have the upper hand. Being they will be throwing 185s-210 pills.. If that is a 12, Myself would be shooting 175grSMKS or 175vlds if you can get them to shoot.. Bc that wind will eat that ass for ya.. Good luck, Keep em in the 10 ring!

Wow stock gun thats great looks like you've got a winner there. I just picked up a Vortex scope not the PST but it is a Viper got a good deal on it and so far Im impressed nice clear glass especially for the money its hard to beat.

I checked some of the old catalogs, originally marketed as 1:10, now shown in the Savage catalog as 1:12.
Also:
try a "stress free" bedding on the action. It should tighten the groups even more.
Congrats on the new rig. Savage really hit the nail on the head with these (no pun intended).

I thought I replied to this thread...guess I didn't..weird.

Anyways, nice rig! I've got your gun's sister..lol. Working on handloads now. And yes these are 1:12 twist.
Same scope, rings and base. Hacked Devcon bed job, Karsten cheek piece, LRA bipod and DIY LOP spacer (temporary for now).
Clearancing around my barrel and barrel but (were touching stock) as well as the bed job did tighten up the groups on a few of my ammo brands I was shooting. FGMM 168 was already so good that I couldn't tell a difference.

Mind giving details on the 168 load?
