I've been reading the forum for a while, but never made a post. I'm a mechanical design engineer from East Tennessee and I shoot a couple times a month, but I'm hoping to get into some classes and matches locally within the next year or so. Completely new to long range with some experience with ARs. Open to suggestions for classes in the Southeast.

Welcome. There are some good people in the Knoxville area. 1000y range at ORSA. Ballisticraft.com is local and he teaches some precision rifle classes for Magpul. He might be a good starting place. Also Bugholes.com is only 1.5 hours West. They make some great rifles and barrels.

I second coming out to ORSA. Shoot a couple 600 and 1000 yard matches. Instant downrange feedback with the ability to plot on a known targets size. Very good for teaching yourself wind, though ORSA is the fucking devil when it comes to weird wind shit.

The state Long Range Championship is this weekend. Maybe swing by and see what it's about.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate the suggestions and I'm looking into K&M and ORSA. Besides the precision rifle courses, has anyone gone through the carbine courses at K&M? Thoughts?
