NEW from XLR Industries **ELEMENT CHASSIS**

You can figure the folded length by measuring from the trigger to the end of the barrel and adding 3.75". The length will vary based on what rifle you are using. For instance, a Remington 700 SA will be shorter than a Savage short action.

A Remington 700 SA 20" barrel with the folder will be 29.75" folded.

Figured I'd add to the knowledge, instead of just taking... :)

30.5" (sans palm shelf on the grip) for a Savage 4.2" Model 10 with a 20" barrel.

Edit: Whoops!!! My dimension is for an Evolution, not an Element.

Mine arrived today and I dialed in a perfect fit in a matter of minutes. Question for those of you that have an Element: how are you mounting a quick release, flush cup style of sling mount on the forend?

I have been lurking for quite some time and am extremely interested in either an XLR Element or Evolution. The rifle is a Savage FCP-K with bottom release. I have a few questions that hopefully the fine folk here can help me with so I can make a decision:

1) What is the opportunity cost of the Element instead of the Evolution? It's less expensive, allows me to keep my current rings, and is lighter. The only obvious downside is the bipod is nearer to the shooter, which I guess is more of a balance thing.

2) On an Evolution, how high of rings do you need? I am currently using a one piece base/ring setup (0 MOA). I live in northern central NC and there is pretty much no distance here. I can shoot to 200 regularly and around fall/winter can spread to 450 when the tobacco is pulled. This area is nothing but hills and trees. I have shot further in the past and enjoyed it, but it requires a fair bit of travel. I own my own land and can shoot at the shorter distances whenever I want, though.

3) What are the benefits of the most expensive XLR buttstock? It seems like the Tactical would be the most useful all around.

4) What sort of accuracy increase are we looking at, or is the benefits of a chassis like the XLR over the factory accustock largely in ergonomics? I can shoot about 3/4" - 1" from a bench with regularity, but from a bipod on the ground, that opens up to 1 to 1.8" or so at 100 (I am not an experienced bipod shooter, and am fairly new to it, mostly being a stand hunter, bench shooter, and sling user). I know that many people on the internet lie (Gasp!) about their "all day long" strings so I'm trying to be honest in how I shoot, I certainly won't pretend I never throw a wider group, but will I see a reasonable increase in accuracy? I think from the bench I've touched what I think my rifle is truly capable of, but I certainly have room to go from more practical positions.

I bought my FCPK because it's well known to be a very accurate factory rifle, and it is, but I always want that smaller group, and I spend a lot of time and components chasing it. If the XLR stocks made my 1.5" proned out groups 1", I'd probably be pretty happy. My big concern is that in terms of mechanical accuracy that my gun is already more accurate than I am, and that adding a chassis won't gain me anything. Are the XLR chassis easier to shoot, particularly from a prone position, than the factory accustock? I personally find the accustock small but not objectionably so. I'm a pretty average sized guy.

I know that 4 is a dumb question because all guns and shooters are different, but what did installing a chassis do for YOUR groups?

Personally I find the looks of the Evolution to be far better than the Element, but no matter how I cut it, unless I'm missing something the Element will be several hundred dollars cheaper when I figure in the need for a new higher ring and base setup for my rifle. If I could find a good argument for the Evolution I would go for it in a heartbeat because I think it looks great, but the Element just seems overall better for most/all situations. I've been aggressively watching several sites' sales sections looking for a used bottom release Evolution for Savage short actions, but it's pretty hard to find one of those used!

I will also add that most of my long range rifle experience is with ARs, which is why I'm interested in the XLRs in particular. I am fairly new to long range capable bolt guns.

Sorry for the wall of text, I just want to make sure I'm throwing my money in the right places. I value the input of those here, but if I would gain more from spending more in another sector, like optics (currently using a SFP Vortex PST 6-24x50), then I will do that. I punch a lot of paper and practice a lot, and am always trying to do better.

I have a FCP-k in an Evolution chassis. I find it very comfortable to shoot from both a bench and prone. .5-.6 moa. I do not like stocks like the factory accustock for prone shooting. The FCP-k is not a lite rifle so I am guessing that weight is not a huge factor. If you are shooting primarily off a bench, bipod or barriers I would get the evolution, just for the added forend length. It is heavy for any non supported shooting. I have the tactical butt stock and really like the ergos. Send your new base to Kyle he will cut to length. If your existing rings are good sell them here and buy a taller set. I run badger highs on a badger base with the same scope as yours just ffp.

That being said I will be ordering an element with tactical light buttstock for a lighter weight 223 build for my son. He is only 10 and weight will be a factor and he will be packing the rifle for hunting as well.
Either will be a big step up from the factory stock. And the quality is excellent! And nobody said this was a cheap sport/hobby/addiction.

The T3 receiver is too short for use with the AICS style long action magazines. For this reason we do not build any of our chassis for use with the Tikka T3 in long action calibers like the 300 WM.

Thanks, Kyle ~ XLR

Hey Kyle, any idea if a L/A Tikka t3 inle will be possible for the element, or will it just be 223/308 only like the rest?

Thanks for the reply Kyle. I bought a 700 sps lefty so I certainly may be contacting you when i get the funds to do an element. A few questions though, Can the folder mech be set up to fold the stock to right side? Can a recoil reducer be installed in the buffer tube? Compatibility of Accurate mag 300WM magazines (3.85 oal)? Keep up the awesome work Kyle!

I won an Element that Kyle and the XLR guys generously donated to the Silencerco PRS shoot. I love it! I have decided that all of my comp stuff is going to be Crimson, and so I have been Cerakoting my guns. Most people hate it, but I am tired of "tactical" colors.

Thanks again to Kyle and XLR!

Sorry about the upside down pic. I can't figure out how it fix it and it is giving me a headache.

Refreshing looks great

I love mine! Had a benchmark barrel in 6.5CM installed on a blueprinted M700 action and bolted in this thing... shoots perfect!

It was done by my buddy Kevin at tactical firearm finishes. He's on the hide as well. I ordered the chassis with foam pad removed and applied it after coating. The finish is duracoat tactical OD green and tactical black.

Just got mine yesterday! Love it! once all the adjustments are dialed in it is even better. Huge upgrade from a B&C. Kyle and crew really knocked it out of the park with this one, especially considering the price.

Bump for updates on the Tikka chassis.

Our Element chassis for the Tikka are in stock and ready to ship!

Any possible chance that you will be making your chassis for the Sig Sauer SSG3000

We do not build any of our chassis for the SSG 3000. The receiver design does not work with our style of chassis.

That's just my luck, Thank you for your response.
