New gunstock - missing easy shots

Hello!

I have recently swapped my Tikka T3 standard stock to a KKC. It feels incredibly good, shooting very tight groups prone and sitting.

Issue is that in hunting scenarios I have missed the easiest shots I could'nt even imagine to miss before, has anyone had experience with swapping to a gunstock with more of a straight pistol grip that affects shooting that much? I failed to hit a fox free-handing at 50m, but I do this on the regular at 100m+ with the old stock. Feels like I do the same thing I have always done with trigger discipline and everything, but somehow I completely whiff and I'm left feeling extremely confused.

What can I do to reduce these transition symptoms? Just practicing more and getting used to the stock?

If your rifle shoots great when supported then the stock itself isn’t the problem which you never said it was.

I much prefer a tradional stock on a hunting rifle or any rifle that i may shoot standing or unsupported. It feels more natural. I don’t mind them shooting from prone either. I am pretty sure that with a little practice you will be making those shots again. If you cant then put your old stock back on and know that all “upgrades” aren’t really upgrades.

Some wise words there Wade, hopefully I'll be able to recover. Feels horrible when I shoot no problemos while practicing, but as soon as that blood starts to pump in a hunting scenario it goes to shit lol. Some clever people with tons of experience on this forum so thought I'd make a try to get some more clarity. :)
