Not new on this planet and not new in shooting, but starting my first "bolt-rifle-project".

My rifle experience until now is having an AR15, an US Model of 1917 and a CZ 455 (.22lr.).

Now I´m in the market for a Tikka and a good scope.
Do hope to find here good infos and to learn a lot.

Cheers from the rims of the Black Forest,
Jay

Welcome to the site.
I think you'll have a lot of fun with a Tikka, they shoot decently here.
There are a lot of top of the line scopes made right in your area.

You have an AR15 in Germany? I had no idea ownership of this rifle is legal in Germany.

Bolt guns are amazing upgrade over ARs... faster trigger, better ergos, more stable/tighter fit. Enjoy learning about them here.

Hi,

Welcome to the "hide". There are lots of very knowledgeable members on this forum. Is Feldberg covered in snow yet?

Germany has some top knotch AR manufacturers that have various countries and .govs using their products.
Oberland Arms--They are probably the most known AR15/10 manufacturer in Germany.
Albert Arms---Makes 1 of the only semi auto 338LMs in the world that I trust to shoot. They also make a great 300WM version.
Schmeisser GmbH has a very large series of AR15s

Sincerely,
Theis

Hey guys,
yes, it is possible to own semi-auto rifles if you are a law-abiding citizen and if you are fullfilling some criterias.
But that would be a long story to tell.

Tikkas do pretty well over here too. ;)
And yes, the Finns know how to make some great rifles.

Feldberg in snow, confirmed!

And I´m owning an AR15 from Schmeisser, the Ultra Match with the 20" bull barrel from Lothar Walther.
That thingy still shoots better than me.

Thanks for your welcome,
Jay

Welcome. I've been here a month or so. This forum is a great resource. The posters aren't pretentious know-it-alls, just guys who genuinely like to discuss our craft.

Man it's a good thing you didn't try using the screen name "TheGerman" We already have one of those. No telling what he might do if provoked. Or even if not provoked.:) Seriously though he's a great dude.

Welcome to the hide.
