Hi everyone,

I suppose this is where I start. I'm looking to join a group of shooters on the east side of Washington/west side of Idaho. I'm a life long shooter, but I'm new to shooting at ranges beyond 500 yards.

Just moved south to Boise from the university cities area after 8 years.

If you're in the Tri-Cities area check out Blue Ridge Ranch.

If you're in the Spokane, Cheney, CDA area look at Rock Lake Rifle Range.

Lewiston - Clarkston Valley look in the LC Wildlife Club. That was my "Home" range for all pretense and purposes.

Thank you very much! I live in one of those two university cities that are ~8 miles apart. Being smack dab between Rock Lake and LC Wildlife Club, I may go to Rock Lake just because they have more distance to shoot out to.

Also, if you don't mind me asking, where would you rather elk hunt on public land, Washington or Idaho?

Personally, I went with LCWC.

LCWC was $50 year for membership and a hour less drive time for me compared to Rock Lake from Moscow.

Don't get me wrong Rock Lake is the superior range, but I couldn't make use of Rock Lake being open 7 days a week with my schedule. I did attend Rock Lake's PRS-geared classes and tried watching matches whenever possible.

Idaho resident, hunted units 8-10a exclusively when in the panhandle area. I never bothered looking at licenses and tags for WA.

Yea, LCWC may be the better bet, compounded by the fact that my limited time and money is forcing me to choose between backcountry hunting and long range shooting. Only one ends with meat in the freezer, so I'm leaning towards the former. Thanks again!

I have shot with Scott, and seen him coach people. He is a great guy, and really knows his stuff. I used to teach LE firearms at a police academy for many years, so I have some idea of who is a good instructor, and who is mostly full of themselves. Scott really knows his stuff, and best of all, he is able to convey his knowledge to his students. There are plenty of shooters who know lots of information, but a great teacher knows how to convey their knowledge....that is Scott Staterlee.
