New Guy looking for good .308 recipe

Guys, Got my new press and all up and ready to go. I've been looking at the Berger 175gr VLD BC and was impressed with what they are saying. However I understand you can't believe everything you read so I thought I'd ask what others think. Please send any input as far as if this is a good bullet or if there's better to look at. Also powder and primer combos' to go along with it. Any and all info will be greatly appreciated.

Jam it into the lands and use about 44 grains of Varget and you should be fine. Work up, start at 41-42. 45 is max.

Varget works excellent in 308 (and alot of other thing). I've had great experience with Varget + CCI BR2 primers along with 155gr and 175gr SMKs. 1/2 moa or better.

Lapua, Win or GGG brass.

Anybody have experience with the Berger 175's? If I'm not mistaken the BC is quite higher than the SMK's. I could be wrong.
