New guy...looking to learn

Hey folks. New guy here from Texas. I have been looking at some long range rifles for a minute. Funny enough, shoulder surgery at the beginning of the month put me in Physical Therapy and my PT is into PRS. I’d heard of it, but wasn’t really educated on it. After several visits with him and numerous chats about it, I’ve decided that it will be my new hobby. He told me today about this site and I obviously came home and joined!!! Looking forward to reading and learning as I start getting more into this new hobby. Although, it doesn’t look like I’ll actually be able to hit the range until next year due to the shoulder.

Haha.....nah. But I already know. Retired Marine. Can definitely see the struggle I’m about to face. Semper Fi Doc!

Check out second hand gear if you arnt turned off by that kind of thing.

W the shoulder you might consider a 6mm projectile. Less recoil. Some argue the 6mm doesn’t provide enough splash when they miss to make a correction. Fair point, but given the injury it might be wise to take the trade off. 6CM is still available and seems to be the new whiz bang cartridge in the 6mm flavors.....until Hornady markets something different.

if you don’t reload, pick a round that can be found easily in match ammo like 308 or 6.5CM

It might be cheaper and less addicting to try crack but if you choose shooting you will get to keep your teeth... Seriously welcome I'm sure you will enjoy the journey.
