Hello all.Im from Illinois, about 40 miles south of Chicago, and yes its a rat hole of a city that i dont go to.Im a member of the Illinois state Rifle Assn. for a few years now and my main intrest is becoming more long range shooting. So far i have only fired out to 300 yards on a range but have a desire to try a 1000 yard range. My main long range rifle is a Winchester model 70 made in 1967 with a weaver 8 power scope that was mounted the day it was bought new,im the 2nd owner.I have a goal to build a model 70 like what was used in Viet Nam by the Marines,Id like to copy what Carlos Hathcock carried on his first tour.I will need help to build this rifle right and to use it properly.I have collected military rifles since i was a kid and have now settled on sniper rifles that i have a few of but now i want a new rifle for myself instead of just new to me.Any help building a correct model 70 is welcome. As i have just started to do research im totaly new to this site and open to all that can help in any way.Thank you ,Mark
