I have been following this forum for a number of years but have just recently decided to participate. Retired Navy Chief Engineman '04. Spent half my time on destroyers and Cruisers and the other half with landing craft and Special Boat Units. I build custom 1911's and Mauser rifles. I have 2 custom target rifles built on mauser actions. A 308 on a 1912 argentine (Steyr) action with Adams and Bennett barrel and pre '64 Win style Dakota safety and a H&R model 300 (Zastava) Mauser in 300 win mag with the Dakota safety and a Shilen barrel that I haven't blued or stocked yet. I also have a FN PBR in 300 WSM that will be riding in a Manners stock soon. My 308 has an older 4.5-14 Springfield Armory FFP BDC scope on it and the PBR has a 3.5-18 Valdada FFP with their reticle. Leaning towards the Kahles when I finish the 300 win mag. I love the MSR reticles but have not owned one yet. Longest range around here is 300 yards and expensive. I miss living in Washington and all the DNR land around me. I used to shoot all the time out there. I also have several M-4's ( I like Rock Rivers) a SCAR 17 with a nightforce 2-10x42 mildot and a Trijicon RMR 7 red dot on top and an old M1a in a Fajen laminate stock with Douglass Hbar and a bunch of match parts that I built years ago. Several deer rifles 03A3 in Fajen stock and my prize Supergrade Win 70 in 300 WSM and a bunch of shotguns and handguns. Anyhow I have been hunting and shooting since I was 12 and building guns and gunsmithing since my mid 20's so I hope I can learn something and hopefully contribute as well.
