First post, Got my new jp lrp in the other day so I figured I'd join. Pretty impressed needless to say. That's the first group after zero. 20 rounds down the tube. Only going to get better after some copper build up.

168 fggm

Correct, it's a 20" barrel with their large brake. I actually sold my obr and picked this up. Very happy with the decision. Dustin actually called me and talked me into the 20" barrel for the heavy contour. It took a little over 6 weeks to get and that includes the 3 week expected extension on wait time for cerakote. Other than that, it's everything jp, minus the bushy hdmr and accuracy first bubble. Low mass bolt and silent capture spring.

I did a lot of research on this site before I sold the obr, and let me tell you. It was worth it. I've got the reg all tuned up and it feels like a 556. Honestly it does. That group was from a sandbag not the tripod. Just trying to decide on an atlas or gg&g xds2.

I will say, I've owned a few gas rifles, but this one is actually lighter and feels more solid than anything I've owned precision wise. The side charge is awesome and different, feels a lot better than the t handle. I've always been accustomed to two stage triggers, but jp has ruined me with this single stage deal.

Super lightweight, super accuracy, super fit/finish, soft shooting, got to love JP.

Do you buy a 16" and go light with like a Kahles 1-6x (17oz.), or do you go 20", PRS, high mag. scope and shoot bugholes?

Be careful with the single stage trigger, my buddy was feeling for the second stage when the single stage broke crisply, hitting the top of the berm, before he was ready…

Now do the latest Elfster's 6X5/30 single target contest, see how that works out.

Enjoy that JP rifle, OP.

Thanks guys! You may see me on some of the challenges here soon.

I will say anybody on the edge between the obr and jp...jp all the way for customer service alone don't even mind the performance. But with that said, the first group was amazing.

I'm unsure of the weight difference between the gap and jp, but the gap doesn't have that side charge handle. Plus you can just see the quality in this thing. It feels like a true custom rifle, nothing I've experienced before. It makes you want to get into handloading, not just settle for factory stuff.

Nice rifle, OP. A friend sold me on an LRP a little while ago and I am more than happy that he did (I was tossing around another bolt gun build at the time). Mine is chambered in .260 and the thing is just stupid accurate. The only thing I want to change on it is the gas block. JP recommends finding a setting that works for the load you're going to shoot, then add some blue loc tite to the set screw. I have read from multiple different folks that the combo of carbon build up on the blue loc tite seizes the set screw and makes it a bitch to get out.

Thus far, I haven't added any loc tite, which may just be the most simple answer too...might just have to watch for movement in the set screw. Either way, it's a minor issue when considering how well built these rifles are.
