Hello all,
Was suggested by "killshot" to get involved with the online training videos. I am very happy I did. Spent over 2 hours this morning watching the videos and glad I did.
My name is Chris, and I am retired Navy (aviation), working as a civilian now here in Southern MD.
I own a POF-308 20", and love it! I have added a Harris Bi-Pod and a BCM extended charging handle. The Giesselle SD-E trigger is on order and should be here any day now. I have a DNZ one piece mount, with a Leupold Mark AR 3x9 40MM scope on it. Just do not have the money at this time for a better scope. Someday.....
I have accepted a challenge from a local friend (we are both noobs), to see who can get the tightest group (2") at 300 yards, 3 shots. He will be shooting his FNAR .308, and me my POF. The challenge is in mid-May, grand prize bragging rights and a case of beer. Shot will be done from sitting position on a bench.
So, I bought some Federal Gold Match ammo, 168gr, and an Anemometer.
After watching the videos, I feel even newer than the newest noob! My form is all wrong, and my trigger control is awful! Cannot wait to get to the range and try some of the advice I got from the videos.
The man in the videos, particularly the "wind" video, mentions 1000 meter shots! WOW....., I am only looking at this point to do that at 300 yards.
Anyways, wanted to post my introductory post, and say Awesome site! Looking forward to learning some more!
