Hello, I have been browsing for a while and decided to become a part of the forum. I'm 26, from Arkansas, but have been living in Houston for 4 years. I went to tech school and did the race engine thing for a few years, but when I couldn't afford to open my own shop, went to oilfield parts (but miss engines every day).

I had an AR, but didn't find shooting it as relaxing and enjoyable as I had hoped, so I sold it and got my first bolt gun, a Remmy SPS Tac in .308.

This forum is a wealth of knowledge and I look forward to all the reading, perhaps might even get the chance to pitch my own thoughts at some point.

Nice to know someone that knows something about race engines. I have a 1994 dodge Viper only 20,000 miles. Has 400 hp stock... I have heard that it does not take too much mod to wring another 200 hp out of it. Would be nice to hear from a pro.

If you are in Houston then Be at American Shooting Centers Range at the 600 yd line every saturday morning, you will find us there shooting steel and talking smack.

i have the same sps tac as well and out of the box it will shoot sub moa. i am in the area as well so let me know if you want to shoot some time. i have a 1000 yard range i can take you out to, and also plenty of private land to shoot as far as you want. welcome to the hide.

Sounds like a very nice car. I haven't messed with any Vipers, but I've always wanted to. Thank you for the welcome!

Good to see some local folks! I am still waiting on a base and some rings, along with a few other items. Will have to start off on the 100 yard line and work up, but I would certainly be thankful for any tips, pointers, advice, and instruction.

We'll have to see. I've never pulled the trigger on anything past 100, and if I'm gonna hunt the rifle (which I hope to do) I'll have to figure out my elevations through the ranges. But I'll plan some weekends to drop by and watch, learn, and maybe help spot and see if I can ID the trace. I promised my wife that when I sold my AR we wouldn't be out of pocket on the new rifle, and I'll be damned if I don't need to get rid of a red dot before I can get the rings and base! But a promise is a promise.
