Hey all, New to the hide. I wanted to share my new build. All i'm missing is the glass. I'm partial to the Marines version of the weapon but it sports a leupy and the NF NSX is a damn good looking scope so I want to know what y'all think about both? I need some A.R.M.S #22 high rings if anyone has a pair layin around. Anyway enjoy the pics. Criticism is always welcomed

Re: New MK12 Mod 1

Thanks, It started as a SAM-R build, canc'd that project (couldnt find anyone install the KAC gasblock/sight) and went with the MK12 upper from High Caliber Sales. Glad I went with the latter

Re: New MK12 Mod 1

I've noticed that most are building'em with NF's.
Does anyone have any experience with both on a similar weapon that can give me feedback? will one out-perform the other or is it just a more bang for your buck type of thing

Re: New MK12 Mod 1

The one with the throw lever is the A.R.M.S adapter. I'm using the KAC. I've seen issued weapons with both. I decided to use the KAC because it was a gift from the wife who didn't know I already had the ARMS adapter (anyone need one

). If you plan on taking it off when storing the weapon like you would with the SOCOM case then i'd go for the throw lever version. IMO it's easier and faster to remove/remount with the A.R.M.S adapter.

Well i'm definitely jealous. I plan on doing the same whenever i can dig up 1000$ to assemble my upper. I also started out wanting a SAM-R and changed my mind to a mk12 mod 1.

What's this? NF isn't going to make a 2.5x10 anymore?

Too late.... the x24's are gone. You will have to settle for a 2.5-10x32.

Re: New MK12 Mod 1

Here is a pic of my work Mod 0, It workie so good, just couldn't bring myself to replace it with a Mod 1

The Leupold got replaced with the 2.5x10x24 Nightforce with zero stop. Don't use the ARMS ring, they are shit. Get a good set of non quick detach rings and torque them down.

Advice that not everyone will agree w/ as far as non QA/QD rings!!!

Re: New MK12 Mod 1

Another excuse to show off pics of my mod 0.

However, I put it together myself, so I can't brag on HCS. This is wearing the Leupold Mark4 3.5-10 x 40mm ill. reticle M3. It is all the scope this rifle needs, from a practical standpoint, given the limitations of the caliber. It now wears a A1 stock, which works a lot better for me with the eye relief of the scope (need to keep the scope far enough forward so the flip up caps don't get stuck on the BUIS)

And with my 308:

Re: New MK12 Mod 1

+1 For Kevin and HCS. Bought my Mod 1 last year and came in under the wire on the x24 NFX. Waiting for the OPS Inc transfer now. My favorite rifle to shoot. I zeroed at 300 with mk262. It doesn't miss. CJ

No issues. Reticle is in mills, turrets in moa, not ideal, but def. usable. All depends on what system you learned. With this set-up, it takes a slightly different formula to calculate distance to target using the reticle, but otherwise you just refer to your come-ups chart in MOA and dial the scope as appropriate. Not a big deal.
