About to drop the bomb on a nightforce NXS Compact or F1 in MLR with Mil/Mil....
Will be rigged to a .308 Semi Match rifle, just don't know which glass to pick. Love the 2-10 but no paralax? will be used primarily in the 300-900yd Suggestions?
Currently running a Leupy M4 4.5-14 TMR FFP. Like the FFP but i find myself ranging full power anyways so not super concerned. Main reason why i'm switching is to Mil/Mil with zero stop. Is the Compact good glass with only 32mm? I begin shooting as soon as dawn and often shoot till dusk. I do not have the $$ to get the S&B we have here in stan' O and I'm getting it online due to being deployed right now. I want some new glass when I get back to play with.

Re: New Nightforce

I second the NF F1 but get the MLR2 reticle instead of the MLR, it's a much better reticle that can be used down to the lower powers. For what you are doing, shooting to 900 yards or so, having a parallax adjustment will come in handy versus having no parallax adjustment.

Re: New Nightforce

You'd be plenty happy with either.I know because I have both.

I think the 2.5-10 is better suited for a lighter hunting rifle/SPR or on a medium range rifle.I'm usually a FFP guy but I like the NF compact as is with the velocity reticle. My only complaint is there are no indicators to see what turret rev your on.At least it has a zero stop though,so as long as you remember to use it you're fine.

The F1 is my favorite scope! The 10 mil knobs and ZS have made this scope even better. For a 3.5-15 it can be considered compact compared to most tactical scopes in it's class.Bought the H-58 ret in mine.Love it!NF needs to update the illume system to be like the compact series and it sure would be if they'd put in 10Y parallax.
