New Prime 6.5 Creedmoor

I got a couple cases of Prime 6.5 CM and zeroed my rifle in. Shoots great, I had set my ballistics App up last year from the data on the box, 130 grain bullet at 2850 fps.
Box has a sticker on the side with lot number and 2930 fps, Web site says using 140 grain Berger bullet. I just want to know which numbers to use. (I don't have a chrono to check velocity myself) Sorry if this the wrong forum to ask this in, but if anyone knows the answer I would appreciate it.

Just true the software to 700ish yard impacts. Use that number and run it.

Spoke with Jim O. At prime Pre buy are 130 grain, but 140 Berger hybrid are available as well as the 130 Sierra bullet version. He’s checking on FPS, but didn’t think that was correct.

Just guess and make adjustments as necessary on your elevation and them the speed in your calculator to match. Zero need for a chrono.

There are many ways to true data but using MV solely is not the best way. There have been many threads about it on the Hide. Here are a couple of the best ones to look over. I swear by them at long distances (> 900 yards) for a 6.5 Creedmoor using 130 or 140 grain Berger or PRIME).

There was a Peterson / Spark load Prime was looking at with the 140s that was over 2800fps

The 130s would be in the 2900s but there is a 140gr load going close to 2850

The Prime Box is the 130,

Then in testing we had a 140gr load going similar speeds

But 2900 is the 130gr velocity in a lot of rifles

...this is with a 140 hyrbid. There are so many non believers out there.

2850 with the 140 Hybrid is pretty doable out of my 24" Bartlein with RL16. About to try RL26 for speed/grins but I've pretty much settled on a 2770 node with RL16 - easy on brass, barrel and .2's work fine for me. If I can easily find a speedier load that matches the accuracy with RL26 - maybe. But, I've read that RL26 is about as temp stable as RL17, which I had great results with, but went back to H4350 and then RL16 to reduce worry about summer/winter loads. I've not experimented with anything lighter than 140's at this point.

R26 is definitely better than R17 but it’s not like the set and forget that R16 can give you.
Speed is wonderful till it bites you.
I like loads that don’t give me issues if it gets hot or a bit wet.

I believe 130 is SMK. 140 is Berger hybrid.
