A wind meter is a great tool to have for any long range shooter. I have owned numerous models and upgrade every few years.

I own a 4500 with AB ballistics which I probably won't is the ballistic function much as I rely on my rear works data from my data book.

These new meters are perfect for a shooter that can't afford a full blown wind meter at this time.

    They are affordable and work.

They are small compact and will fit easily in your gear.

Plus if the phone version ballistic programs can integrate this in the programs that would be a nice feature.

Will this interface with the Applied Ballistics program installed on my tablet? I wish it had other sensors too like temperature and pressure. Maybe they will come out with one with those features....

Absolutely agree. People need to realize keep in mind this is ONLY a wind meter. This is something primarily for those getting into LR shooting, need the basics, but can't get a Kestrel (or similar) weather meter. The Kestrel does it all, with a 4000 and 4500 giving on the spot DA to the AB models providing ballistic data in a single unit as well.

Where I see this product coming into play is someone using their phone to pull MET data in from a weather website station that is hopefully nearby, plugging that into whatever ballistic program they have to gain their shooting solution, then using this for a wind meter to gather info for the final step of adjusting for the wind. Semi-accurate measured data for the main weather aspects under $40 is not bad. Might even be handy for training off the range, judging wind calls from appearance of objects without toting a Kestrel around for verification. But again, it's only one piece of the weather data puzzle.

Hmm... I wonder if this will plug into the Earl whenever they get that unit off the ground, and where I may be able to take it from there considering it is having additional weather meters installed into it. My patience is wearing on that piece of vaporware though.

Weatherflow has an app that logs wind speed at your geo location, it also uses the nav to give direction based on the direction your iphone or android is facing. I have one of these and I like how simple it is to use, great backup to keep in your hunting bag.

I have a Casio Gzone and it has a built in thermometer for the temp. It also has something for the barometric pressure but I haven't gotten to fool with it yet. This sounds like it will be perfect for my budget.

Still have a few left. Also would like to see some feedback from the customers who bought and have been using them.

I have taken mine out in the field and did quick side-by-side with my Kestral and it read within .1 mph from the Kestral. I had the sample set to 3 seconds (you can set from 3 seconds to 60 seconds), so in the pic it had just switch to record/log mode. I like the size as it can be tucked away in a stock pack, or hunting vest. It can give you wind direction based on your geolocation and the way your phone is facing. This is a feature only found with the higher end Kestrals. It will be nice if it can be integrated with Ballistic AE, but along side it compliments it greatly. Ballistic AE will fetch humidity, elevation, temp and pressure based on your location, so the Weatherflow provides you with the last variable. I give it a thums up! Great value for the money.

I hope to get one in the next few days,
Running it on a Galaxy S4 with humidity and temp sensors as well as using GPS for altitude, Gyros for target direction as well as for wind direction, Strelok will hopefully be able to use all inputs and draw up a pretty good real time MET...

I will report back as soon as I have the unit as well as time to go shoot in windy conditions.

For those that have been waiting to order we just got another shipment in yesterday and they are live on the site ready to be ordered.

These bad boys have been quite the hit with shooters wanting to learn how to gestimate the wind and also get solid wind readings. The app is solid and with the upcoming coding upgrading for the phone ballistic programs these are going to be even hotter.

Got my wind meter today. That was fast! Thanks! However, there is absolutely ZERO (0) wind today! :-/ Figures...but I used it to measure my breath speed...seems to work! I like!

Does anyone know if this will be wind meter will be integrated into any ballistic software anytime soon? So far the product has been nothing short of awesome (still learning how to call wind) for the price point. Thank you.

Bump for another new batch in.

ImKu - there was talk of the companies working on making that happen.
