Join the contest SubscribeLooks like an updated version of the L Tec turret system.Looks like possibly toolless reset on turrets possibly?
Im in for one.
Good catch. Either way I’m still in.Looks like an updated version of the L Tec turret system.
You can see set screws in the turret.
Seems odd that all the pictures show it with caps removed (if it is indeed an L Tec setup).Good catch. Either way I’m still in.
I like the MDT side weights tooLooks like a new Razor will be released next year.
I’m looking forward to the release. I hope the production model takes up some of the dead space on the turret for larger numbers
How much lower can they go?Gen ii Razors ought to drop in price then also
How much lower can they go?![]()
Yeah can’t wait for $200 weight setsI like the MDT side weights too
Is that even possible?I can’t see it weighing less than the Gen II but maybe I’ll be surprised.
The "inner" knobs are 1/100mil clicks. Takes the place of the "infinite adjust" thing the Gen2 has. Guess that'll sorta address the lack of tool-less zero. If you're off a couple or few tenths, you can just pull the cap and clicky-clicky to adjust.Looks like a new Razor will be released next year.
If the glass is on par with ZCO and TT, the price will be 4500+The "inner" knobs are 1/100mil clicks. Takes the place of the "infinite adjust" thing the Gen2 has. Brand new reticle too, of course.
Glass is reported to be a contender with the top end stuff. We hear that with every new scope, though.
This is all I know.
But the Athlon Cronus is and it's only $1200!If the glass is on par with ZCO and TT, the price will be 4500+
That turret bowl is asking to collect water, then freezing in our Wisconsin unpredictable weather. I hope there's a turret cover.I’m looking forward to the release. I hope the production model takes up some of the dead space on the turret for larger numbers

100% disagree, its easy to add weight to a rifle but difficult to remove it.Interesting.
I actually hope they keep them heavy like the HDG2’s… since most will just have to make up the difference with another set of weights, and doubt anyone is planning on throwing these on their lightweight hunting rig.

Or they raise the price of the gen 3 to not further dilute the gen 2. Just like the lvpoGen ii Razors ought to drop in price then also
Do you own a TT? The TT's have a cover that has 2 D-shaped imprecisions. Those D-shaped impressions can hold water but it doesn't affect anything....Doesn't seem like it's stopped people from adopting Tangent Thetas at all.

One of the reasons you don't see many people using the 3-18 razor is that it weighs virtually the same as the 4.5-27 and is barely any more compact, giving no reason to actually buy it.
If they do a 5-35 ish model and a 3-21ish model I'll be most displeased if they both weigh over 40oz.
Mostly because I'll need to keep waiting for the illuminated Burris XTR3 wwhich at this stage seems like an elaborate troll.
The close-up photo of the inner knobs say 1 CLICK = 0.1 MRAD, so it wouldn't be 1/100 clicks. The "inner" knobs are 1/100mil clicks. Takes the place of the "infinite adjust" thing the Gen2 has. My assumption from looking at pics and not seeing one in person. It looks like there is one large set screw on each turret (above 1.0 mil elevation, and above 1.0R on the windage, to better allow a RH shooter to see the set screw). Loosen the one set screw, and you'll then be able to "click" adjust your zero with the inner knob in 0.1 MRAD increments without a tool. Whereas the Gen2 you needed to fiddle with a screwdriver and the floating infinite adjust dial, after loosening the 3 tiny set screws.
I'm skeptical of a new reticle, I think personally the EBR-7C is way too busy compared to the old 2C I've been shooting for 5 years.
Thanks for sharing that, I just looked that reticle up and it looks VERY nice compared to the 7C. I would definitely be good with the XLR-2 going forward. The new XLR-2 reticle that is on the Razor LHT looks like a cleaned up, more simple version of the 7c. I hope they use it for the Razor Gen 3.

With the scopes weighing 46+ oz it basically means they are only good for PRS or other disciplines where heavy rifles are a must.IDK, guess it depends on what stock/chassis one runs… I run a Manners TCS with the steel rail and all the weights it’ll take, so not so easy for me. I know a few of the other chassis’ out there make it easier to add more weight, but I don’t want any of those.
Besides, I can’t remember the last time someone wanted to make their PRS-style rig lighter… probably because it’s never happened.
This!!!I’m looking forward to the release. I hope the production model takes up some of the dead space on the turret for larger numbers

Yes, Vortex lowered the weight on the Gen2e 1-6 and kept a lower weight for the Gen3 1-10.Is that even possible?
I don’t think PRS optics being heavy is a good thing, it shifts the center of gravity rearward which then requires either a mega thick barrel or add-on steel weights to properly balance the rifle on a bag.
Now put that 18” barreled action in an AX chassis which has a 3+ pound buttstock assembly and let me know how it balances.Hmmm seems to balance fine on an 18” Kukri. Lol

Lots of assumptions and guessing in this thread. Will be interesting to see what happens when it hits the market.
