I think the gun store guys advice was to shoot some factory rounds and save the brass in a plastic bag so he could have fire formed brass to measure down the road. This gun store guy is one helluva guy with some great advice.
Looks like your in Florida too, if you are ever near the Inverness area, he's at Dan's Gun Room:
105 N Florida Ave, Inverness, FL 34453
(352) 726-5238
Yeah, he was talking about fire formed brass, but honestly I didn't absorb much about that part. As for my status on my reloading, I discovered that my friend did not have much experience working with wood and I have asked around to find that nobody I know has wood working experience. The location I have planned to reload at will take a few weeks for me to even enter, because my friend is going out of town for Thanksgiving. Other than that, here is what I have:
1. Rockcrusher supreme kit
2. 7mm dies
3. 7mm container
4. Berger 180 grain bullets
5. Federal 215 match primers
6. Norma brass
7. 2lb IMR 4350 powder
8. Location to reload.
9. Berger manual
10. ABC's of reloading.
This weekend I went on a journey to find the primers and powder. I had to travel like 200 miles to the closest place, I was in awe that the store had more than 500 215 primers. I wanted to get the Hodgdon 4350 powder, but they only had IMR. I was tempted to clear out their inventory of 3 pounds, but I figure I don't really need it right now. I think the prices will come back down by the time I need some.
