New rifle build (update)

Hey folks,

Getting ready to start the next build. It is based on a Manners T4A stock with a mini-chassis (purchased used on this site), Defiance Deviant action (Core Shooting Solutions), Brux barrel with a M24 profile (Southern Precision Rifles), and a Area 419 Hellfire break (supplied by the gunsmith). The question is which trigger. My current 6.5 Creedmoor rifle has a Timney Calvin Elite trigger and is feels good to me. However, the gunsmith has suggested a TriggerTech. How many of you prefer the Triggertech? And which model would you suggest, the primary or special?

New question below:
Now have a choice of coatings for the action: DLC or cerakote? I have read quite a bit on cerakote and it appears to be a good choice. Don't have any experience with DLC. How about you folks? Which would you choose?

And yes, this will be another 6.5 Creedmoor. First 6.5 is a McMillan A5 and the second will be a Manners T4A.

Triggertech is a good trigger. I have the "regular" (primary?) one. Trigger itself is great, very crisp and repeatable. I wish that I could adjust it down further, lowest it will go is 1.5 lbs.

I've since swapped it out with a Bix 'n Andy Tacsport, which I prefer over the trigger tech. I love the adjustability, the two stage trigger, the narrow shoe, lower pull weight, etc.

Overall it's a decent trigger, especially if you like single stages.

Triggertech is hands down the best single stage i've used to date. I'm more of a two stage fan through and through but if i go single stage i'm going TT from now on. I have the Standard and Special. They don't go as low as advertised on my TL3, 2.5lb for the standard, and 1.5lb for the Special. They should be fine on the Deviant though. If you need lower than 1lb the Diamond is now out.

I've used a CE single stage, BnA TacSport 2-stage, CE 2-stage, and have a Huber. My favorite single stage bar none is the TT. There is no take up or movement a clean break with little to no overtravel after the break as well. Absolutely love these triggers.

I upgraded from a Timney CE single stage to a Trigger Tech Diamond. Very happy with the change, break on the TT is phenomenally crisp. I like the Diamond since I run a pretty light pull weight.

I have a standard triggertech and like it more than a jewell, the special would be really nice and the diamond the cats pajamas if you can do without the bolt release (and you should be able to with a deviant)

I'd go DLC(Only one color, Black). It's way thinner and helps smooths out the action. I'd say cerakote does the opposite if gets into the wrong places(bolt head). If a color scheme is priority, that is your prerogative.

FWIW do NOT coat the entire barreled action. Just the action. It's expensive AF to do the entire barreled action in DLC

If you want the most consistent pull, most capable and dependable trigger on the market. I would choose a Bix'n Andy!

OK folks, the parts in the picture below were sent to the gunsmith today. Manners stock, with Brux barrel and Defiant Deviance action. Decided to go with a Triggertech Diamond trigger and Area 419 Hellfire break. Must admit I am chomping at the bit to try out the new stock. It should be ready by the middle of next month, just in time for vacation. We discussed DLC versus cerakote and decided to go with cerakote. Graphite black for this rifle. If everything goes according to plan, I will be breaking it in at K&M. Next thing on the list is a scope. The current 6.5 creedmore has a Vortex 4.5-27 mounted on it. Keep thinking about either a Nightforce or S&B for this rifle. Not sure yet.
