I may be able to get out to the range today or tomorrow so I'll post up a range report as soon as I do.

Everything is pretty much identical to the Mk12 Mod 1, except I decided to go with a higher powered scope and a collapsable stock (tho, you will see these in the field).

Upper:

Douglas Premium SS 18" Barrel
OPS Inc Brake/collar
LMT FA BCG
KAC Handguard
KAC BUIS
KAC Bipod mount
KAC sling swivel
Harris Bipod
PRI Gasbuster

Lower:
LMT receiver
LMT 2 stage trigger
LMT Sopmod stock

Optics:
Bushnell Elite 4200 6-24x
Larue SPR mount

At 6x (pictures don't do this scope justice) :

Re: New rifle - SPR :)

A real beauty!
Can't wait to hear how she shoots.
Are you getting an OPS 12th for her?
I've been very pleased with my 12th, use it on both SPRs (Krieger Mod0, Douglas Mod1"ish") and a 16" Krieger Recon, as well as planning on a 223 700 clone.

Thanks everyone!

Indeed I do. As soon as I'm finished up overseas for good, get back and get moved, I plan on getting everything signed and turned in. Definitely be going with the 12th. What sort of POI shift do you have with the 12th?

Oh, and I am very very jealous

POI shift is essentially zero with my 16" Recon, with the 18" SPR it's 0.5 MOA directly down to 6 O'Clock.
Accuracy on both seems enhanced by the suppressor.
Couldn't be more pleased.

Re: New rifle - SPR :)

thats a good lookin MOD-1, congrats.

How ya like that LMT two stage? I had one in a MOD-0 and it wasn't my favorite. Once I went with the geissle adjustables I never went back, big loot though

It's okay, it works. I'm looking into something like a Geissle here soon as well.

High Caliber Sales.

Re: New rifle - SPR :)

Nice SPR!

You definitely need a 12th model. I don't see any noticeable shift in mine. I too swear that it shoots a little tighter groups with the suppressor. (Here's my SPR-ish clone. Heart of the rifle is a CLE douglas bbl.)

Re: New rifle - SPR :)

Well, got it to the range today, but dont have any pics of groups worth posting. I was able to get some groups under 1" (probably close to .75), but I was having issues with fliers and consistency. I realize this is 100% my doings, but I think a nice shooting rest setup will be the solution. Any suggestions?

Re: New rifle - SPR :)

Ammo? I mainly shoot XM193 out of mine and I never expect anything better than 1.5MOA(extreme spread) out of XM193. Still the mean radius hovers in the .5-.75MOA range. (2/3rds of the shots) This is with 5, 10, and 20 shot groups.

Stuff like PMC shoots in the 2MOA range with a really terrible mean radius. Pretty much just a shotgun pattern. I keep meaning to load up some of the 77gr SMKs to test accuracy. For the most part I'm just blasting steel at a max distance of 400yds on targets no smaller than 6" so I've never seen the reason to shoot the really good stuff.

Have yous seen the Snipers Hide AR platform trigger finger position video? You using a rear bag? Checking parallax?

Thanks for the reply. I've been shooting nothing but the Blackhills Sierra 77gr and some military 2nd's of the same ammo.

Havent seen the video. I have a rear bag, but my current setup forces me to position the pistol grip onto the bag, which is less than ideal, imo. In regards to parallax, all I have done is dial it to the yardage I'm shooting at then fine tune it a bit for the clearest picture.

Where can I see this video?

thanks!

EDIT - On a side note, I was going to wait to post it, but I have been slowly working on an mk12 info/fan site. Nothing being sold, just some pics and information. www.mk12.net - Still very much in it's infancy stage.

I'd be happy with that.

Nice group.

Solid ammo choice.

All seems well.

Re: New rifle - SPR :)

Got out to the range again today....

I wanted to test out the ballistics calculator I have for my ipod touch called "Ballistics FTE", so I plugged in the SMK 77gr ammo and it suggested 11.36MOA for 560 yards. Dialed in 11.5MOA and hit the steel on the first shot "DING"...very satisfying.

Re: New rifle - SPR :)

Nice set up.

I am going to use my AR set from the JD Machine group buy as an SPRified rifle. I already have an AAC SPR/M4 can on order, probably go with a Noveske 18" barrel w/switchblock, UBR stock and all the other typical accoutrement...maybe top it off with a NF 3.5-15x50 scope in a LaRue SPR mount. I have a NF in a LaRue mount in my AR10 and love it.

Nothing like a plan that's coming together. Super nice!
