I just got this finished up the other night. I have to say that the cerakote is some tough stuff. I thought this camo job turned out pretty good, let me know what ya'll think. I also got to shoot it a little last night and it's accurate. That is still the Hogue soft rubber overmould stock, and I've got my Leupold MK4 on it. Now who's got an extra AN/PVS 22 laying around that's wanting to donate it to a good cause?

Yeah that grass cost 10 grand, half of which I traded an old jeep for.

I'll take that as a compliment.

Re: New Rifle

It kinda looks like the profile of a Rem700 SPS Tac Hogue stock but without you stating so I wouldn't have been sure. Nice Job and looks cool!!

With the stock being soft and somewhat pliable to the touch will the paint hold up well? ie crack or flake off? If you don't see this occur I just might paint mine. Again, awesome job!!

I used Cerakote and did the coyote tan for a base then drew in the green lines and black spots, then I went and broke up the lines and spots with some flat dark earth which isn't far from Coyote tan.

You really have Astroturf for grass?</div></div>
Yeah we had gorilla hair mulch but that shit sucked with the dogs, and they can't kill fake grass. It's the same stuff they use on soccer and football fields.

I bead blasted the stock too, and then cured it with a heat gun because it wouldn't fit in the oven. So far it seems to be holding up well. The recoil pad has some cracks in it but thats not going to be stopped . I used Krylon for the stock at first but one hit with some Hornady one shot stripped that right off. I'll let you know how it holds up here in a month or so if I can remember.

Thanks and Yeah I was kinda leaning towards it blending well in the grass and rock over here. Maybe nail some Antelope this next season.
