have a nightforce 5.5x22x56 scope for my rem 700 looking to get a nice set of rings, any recommendations? not sure on height either...base is 20 moa and if it matters its in a mcrees stock

these are the only things I use anymore, just remember to order 2.

30mm Picatinny Offset Ring, w/ 1" Insert by Barska - Rifle Scope Rings by Barska

if you order 4 you can mount a second scope and look through them like binos

I have two of these and can't figure out what to do with them though I like the idea of binos.

Back on topic, I only buy one piece mounts now that include rings. The last I purchased, and I am very please except the front mounting screw should have been shorter, was a DNZ heavy duty with four bolts per ring and a 20moa drop. It is well built though from aluminum. If they made a a stainless version, I would be lining up. If you go that route, make sure the front bolt doesn't bottom on the barrel and I would bed it with loctite to the action, use moderate heat from a heat-gun to remove. I will (probably) never buy a rail with separate rings again as there are too many clamping issues. I shoot a 300 win mag and it is hard on everything.

I have a DNZ freedom reaper tactical (4 screws per ring) 20 moa 1 piece base made for a savage round receiver. (They make them for Rem 700 SA/LA models too.) Fits like a glove. Mounted a Vortex PST 6-24x50 to my .308 and no problems after 1k rounds. Very reasonable cost @ about $120 too. Got it from SWFA. Use the DNZ website to find the correct model number then search for that on SWFA.

After trying a few different sets of rings from several manufacturers and spending a 4 digit number of funds on rings over the years I'll pretty much stick with Seekins from here on out.

That might be the one I have. I remember there was a heavy duty, four bolt per ring. I think it is well made, fits perfectly, but they could send an optional front bolt that is ground shorter. I have a machine shop so it wasn't a problem to make a bolt, but others would require smithing.

Although I love the idea of VJJ's binocular scopes, and who in their right mind would doubt Barska quality, I really like the Badgers I have them on my 338LM, 308, and 7mm and soon to be on a 6.5CR. Never had a problem never need lapped, and to date never left marks on the scopes, and always paired with a Badger rail.
