I have tried to get my new Seekins rings mounted for an hr or so now with a new NF. I can see a slight bit of daylight under the front ring, and if I put a bit of pressure on the optic, it sticks just a bit in the ring bottoms. I paid $120 simply because everyone said no more lapping etc. I almost went with NF but the lower price got me. I have also let the scope sit in the rings, push em forward, and snug down (15-20 "lbs) and the optic sticks. I have been running the Burris Xtremes, and having them lapped, without problems, and Talley's on all my BR rigs, and the scope will just lay in there perfectly. Would you have em lapped or call Glenn?

Call Glen. I've used at least 20 pair of his rings with nary an issue as you describe.
Might want to verify the tube diameter of the scope just to rule that out before you call him.

It's a 30mm NF been doing this a long time, esp in the BR shooting. It's also the 30mm med high rings to get the tube 4-5mm off the MTU Krieger. I shot it at a match last week with some PRI's (excellent rings btw) and they were a tad high, so I waited on SWFA to get me my Seekins. Look's like I'm never gonna start tweaking loads. I'll call tomorrow.

Lap your rings!

I have a set of Seekins rings mounted on a new rifle with integral rail. I found that the rings were not concentric to the bore when mounted individually with a 0-MOA rail. A better way to say that is: It's as if the bore of the ring was cut at 89-degrees to the top of the rail instead of 90-degrees. Both rings showed this.

Lapping "corrected" this on a set of rings that Seekins claims: Do not lap. Until Seekins Precision offers to buy me a new scope if their rings cause "ring marks" then, Lap those Seekin's rings! I would buy another set of Seekins rings... and will lap them too!

New Kidd "custom" action, Seekins Rings, Proto dial torque wrench, Sinclair Ring Lapping Kit. I think I've done my part to purchase quality.

Nightforce Uni-mounts are the best I have used to date.

Badger, serialized rings, are also highly regarded. I have not tried them.

Your results may vary.

Lap those Seekins Rings!

I am curious if you swapped or reversed the ring tops from the bases?

I was wondering the same thing.

I mounted a set last night and had no issues whatsoever. But like any man made product issues can happen in production.
The good thing is I am sure Glen with take care of this one way or another

Send me a email [email protected] and i will get you taken care of promptly. I got your phone message, but i am in meetings all day today for our new building. I will try to give you a ring as soon as i can if i don't get a email.

I do need you to measure your scope tube if you can. Our experience with night force scopes is they run quite large on the tube OD and this comes up from time to time so we have seen it before. Our rings are approx .003 over tube diameter, if your tube is .002 or larger over what its supposed to be they will be a very tight fit like you are experiencing. Induce a very tiny bit of tolerance stack up from the base, tube diameter, tube straightness and consentricity from front to back and everything else and you can have the issue like you describe pretty easy. some ring mfg's cope with this by making rings larger so you don't notice and everything "feels" good but thats not always the best practice. If you see a little daylight and if you push "just a bit" and the scopes seats you will do no more damage putting the cap on as you just did and most would call it a perfect fit. If it were mine i would assemble and shoot it. When you tighten a single ring down to a rail all the way the ring can twist. We install our scopes loosely and tighten all the screws after everything is in its place. If the rings are a issue i will certainly take care of you. If you want, i can mount yours up, make sure they are perfect with known gauges and eliminate that worry from you?

Lap or don't, we aren't going to take sides. I don't lap, have allot of un-bedded bases on my Remington and have no issues from cheap scopes to S&B's. Some people prefer to lap. I say if it makes you feel better then lap, but i guarantee you a lapping bar isn't perfectly straight, when you push on it you will flex it more and when you lap the rings you are going to make them larger and the bore will no longer be round. the mating surfaces for the rail and the ring bore is completed in one operation in a very accurate.

That's why I use and recommend Seekins products. Got a problem? Glen is right there to take care of it. Luckily it doesn't happen very often.

While I haven't owned 20 sets, I have owned 7 sets. I won't use any other rings for a precision rig... PERIOD!! Glen will get you fixed up, regardless of what the real problem happens to be. That is how true Customer Service WORKS!!

All I can say is that Seekins customer service is better than any I've dealt with. I talked with Shiloah Mattoon, and he sent another set next day air, with return shipping label. I know problems can happen with any Co., and all that matters to me is how they treat you, and Seekins has more than taken care of me. With this kind of business, and the next set doesn't pinch, I will be replacing several sets of rings with Seekins. Thank You Glen, Shiloah and Crystal.

Amen and AMEN, Brother Rob!! Preach on!!!

I have said it dozens if not hundreds of times that Glen is a shining example of what CUSTOMER service should be!! Many others in the industry could take a lesson or two (or 10) from Glen and Co!!! Doesn't get any better than that, gents!

Thanks for the info Glen, and you were away today like you stated, so I spoke with Shiloah, and I checked the tube, rail, and rings. It looks like it may be something to do with the Anodize on the rings, as one of the rings, the optic sits perfect in it, but the other one (whether in front or back) just grabs the tube a bit. It may have not hurt the scope at all, but I wanted to try another set just to see. BTW AWESOME CUSTOMER SERVICE! I will be ordering from again, and some of my Custom AR's will be getting some new lowers as well.
