New Smart Scope From Schmidt & Bender

Doing the math of the article, the Army is paying Vortex $10,800 per scope... With OUR money.
That honestly doesn't seem far off.

A razor 1-10 is going for something like $2K new, plus a mount that is built in (add another $250). On top you have the equivalent of a MARS or RAPTAR, STORM, etc. which all run around $10K.

Not sure I would pay that personally, but still doesn't seem unrealistic. All of the guys out of the USASOC competition had MARS or L3 units on top of their rifles, even the 5.56 guns.

plus, if the Vortex smart scope actually delivers what’s promised, then it will a huge leap in capability for the soldiers.
Seen in that light, it’s almost a bargain.

Especially considering that a Hellfire is considered a reasonable option for taking out an enemy soldier.

Hopefully, these can be exported to NATO allies at some point, I would love to see these in the hand of our armed forces (Denmark).

Honestly our razor gen 2’s and 3’s have been pretty good. We have a boatload of them. A lot better than the old leupolds.

I have no doubt that is case, I know they make a very reliable product. I just remember years ago people saying how fast their warranty service was because of some issue they had with a scope; their service is known to be second to none. My comment was a joke.
