Afternoon all I am going to be on the market for a new stock really soon so I was hoping to get a few ideas on what to get. I currently have a hougs stock but want something with a bedding block all good ideas welcome. Thanks in advance.
Get behind as many as you can and see what you like. Take note of the ones you see that you think you may like and then read up on each and filter it down based on what you feel the pros and cons of each may be.
Very personal decision as not everybody likes the same thing in a stock so what one person may reccomend may not be whats best for you.
Can you narrow down your question to include what your Rem 700 will be used for? Are you looking for a stock for hunting or target shooting? Is weight an issue? Are you looking to spend $300 OR $1200? Lots to choose from, but your intended use can narrow your choices.
Try before buy, a AICS 1.5 will be cheaper than a McM or Manners when you factor in bottom metal, don't get hung up with the thumbhole, Lowlights Jedi online training will help with that.
+1 for the aics for a complete system. if your budget or requirements are lower, consider a hs precision take off stock or a b&c light tactical. best bet is to head to the gun store or meet up with some members at the range and behind each. all of the aboveare very popular and likely to be present.
I am in the same boat here, and due to my limited budget i was thinking B&C. I plan on using my 700 sps V for target not hunting, but i am interested in how this thread ends up.
I just put the B&C light weight tactical on my sps 308 tac and love it. But to each their own! All I really can tell you is do your research. Build your own opinion, but also listen to others. The number one important thing is RESEARCH! Then spend away!!!!
Where is a good place to look at stocks? In my searching It seems you have to go to each site individually. Is there anywhere they are somewhat condensed?
I just bought a HS Precision police/sniper I like it very much, I could not decide between it and the B&C Meadlist, I wonder if I would have liked it instead. good luck deciding
