anyone have any experience with these? this is the heavy barreled model with s-130 rear peep and the 4 interchangeable post front sight. What do they prefer to be fed? what accuracy can I expect? the bore is nice and shiny and the grooves are in really good shape. It really doesn't look shot out.

My uncle had left one of these to me about twenty years ago. This rifle was in excellent condition but not exceptionally accurate with any particular ammo, Never tried any high dollar match ammo tho. Neat old training rifle.

I had a 44US(a) variant, best ever was 1/3" at 50 yards with Remington Eley.

Ate up all kinds of ammo with less stellar groups. Like all old .22 target rifles, it preferred typical target ammo. (unwashed/unplated LRN) I don't think my aperture sight was a 130 series though, I thought I had the 100 variant...

A while ago there was a guy who was making excellent replacement Lyman pattern inserts, he was on RimfireCentral.com.

Just got a crusty and rusty 44us C model a few weeks ago, but it was all there. Got it for a steal too...

Had it out yesterday, getting very good groups with CCI SV and Fed lightning.
