I am looking for an add on flir type thermo optic. I currently run Nightforce and Steiner Military scopes with 56 mm objective. I am want to add some type of thermo to the front of these. What can a guy get that's decent and not over $5,000 what kind of option do I have. I don believe in buying good gear but don't have 10k to drop on this. Any help would be appreciated.

Thermal Clip on

Requirements and Constraints:

1 - Thermal Clip On

2 - Budget of $5000

Option:

IR Hunter w/collimating minifier is probably the only clip on thermal system that will come close to your budget.

*The collimating minifier, needed to run the IR Hunter as a clip on, is rumored to be an additional $500 over that of each system.

Yes, I'm obsessed with this scope and currently waiting on funds to buy on myself.

I answered your Pm, and thanks! While I do sell thermal clip ons in your price range, I think you would get more use out of another setup. For about the same amount of money you can get a clip on (I2) and a handheld thermal and have both the ability to detect with thermal, and to identify and engage at distance with the clip on.

Delta4-3. I am reading that optics like the pvs-14 is supposed to be mounted behind the days scope. Is this accurate. I would really prefer something to go on the muzzle end of my day optic.

Correct, give me a call tomorrow morning if you can and I'll get you all lined out. Thanks!
