I am fairly new to reloading, I just went to reload my brass from my 3rd trip to the range and when I went to seat the bullet the bullet just slid through the neck of the case..... how do I fix this? I'm not using a really hot load I'm shooting 41.5 gr. of varget in a .308 platform.

Not trying to offend you, but since you said you're new to reloading I gotta ask. Did you full length resize or neck size before seating the bullets?

not going to offend me at all, I'm up for any info. When i deprime the cartridge I thought it re-sized the case. also all my cases are trimmed to 2.003

It sounds like you need to set up your resize die properly. I found the directions I needed on the mfgr site. Your die could be backed out far enough to not resize even though it is depriming the case.

Might want to check the reloading forum. There are a couple 2 or 3 stickied that answer your question. I wrote 2 of them.

Like someone else said, you probably need to setup the sizing die correctly. It should squeeze the necks down prior to dragging the expander ball back through the neck.

well.... time to buy a new die, stripped the expander ball off backing the case out of the die....

Just another suggestion, same as above,
Take a look at the stickies in the reloading section.
Doc76251's stuff is what I used when starting. Tresmon's stuff is good to go as well.
Both these guys took alot of time to write up how and why they do what they do.

Read, "Reloading for long range 1-5" you'll find it in the first 7 topics on the reloading page.... I have read it more than once and its got more useful info than most books, can't thank doc enough
