I'm a newbie here too. I really like this site though. Seems to me a lot of other gun sites are too "mall ninja" for my taste. Nothing but "CQB" and "SHTF zombie apocalypse" etc.
Here people seem much more rational and less tin-foily, and this site provides a great knowledge base! Most of my google searches for whatever piece of equipment be it scopes or rings or rifles, always lead me to this site, and the various threads and opinions have helped this newbie out a lot and probably saved me some money as well.
Honestly, I think the ban of religious & political stuff here sure helps a lot to make this IMO, one of the greatest gun sites on the internet too. Cause religions are like left/right political parties, and vice versa. All pretty much exactly the same as one another, exept for minute, and often times irrelevant details. But people take sides and blindly defend and support their side while hating and attacking the other side and fighting against each other like they are totally different. Both things exist for no other reason than to divide the people against each other. "divide and conquer" I'm sure we have all heard that phrase before. With the absense of those two things (religion & politics) in a forum like this people can unite and realize they are actually one in the same.
