Hello Everyone,

So for the past month I’ve have been all over and taking in as much information at possible. After many sleepless nights figuring witch rifle to buy I pulled the trigger on a Tikka T3x CTR 20” in 6.5 Creedmoor. Now I am patiently waiting for it to arrive at my local gun shop. Since then I have been watching tons of videos on barrel break and such. I found Panhandle Persicions to be very helpful in instruction and tools needed.

Now on to the hard part on choosing the scope. Man I thought my rifle choices were hard. There are even more choices in scopes! This is where I need some help. I have been to a couple gun shops and looked through a few and still haven’t a clue what to get. I do think I want to go the MOA route since I mainly communicate in yards inches feet and that’s what comes naturally. The one that have caught my eye and is in my price range is the fx1000 Nikon black series 6-24. What do y’all think of that series? I was wanting the stick at $6-800 for the glass.

And thanks for any help in advance, I found some of the Facebook long ranges groups not not be of much help and just a lot of randomly spewed information haha.

Might move this to the optics section for more traffic.

As to your question. I can't contribute much. At that budget though, I think many recommend ARES or SWFA glass as a cheap starter. Come to think of it, you could do worse picking up a used XTR II 4-20. With the XTR III's coming out, I'd wager some are willing to dump their II's once the III's start shipping.

Congrats on the rifle purchase, I have a 24” barrel version of the same rifle. I mounted an Athlon Ares BTR 4.5-27x50 on mine. I shot the scope on my Savage LRP and was very pleased with the optics, so much so I was going to buy a second Ares scope, but built an AR 15 upper receiver in 6.5 Grendel instead.

NY Cameraland had Athlon Ares BTR’s on sale as low as $ 719 last week. @gr8fuldoug has the hook up.
Also with the SHOT Show coming up, you may see close outs and used optics at good prices soon.
