Yes, I run a Near base (rail) and Alpha mount with all my TRG's/S&B's, and also on my Rem 700 300WM with Premier 5-25. IMHO, you can't get any better then Near.
You need to find out how much elevation adjustment your scope has, and how far out you plan on shooting. Richard can make any combo of slope with the base and Alpha mount to allow you to shoot your rifle and scope to its furthest limit. On my TRG-42, I run a 25-moa base, and a 20-moa Alpha. This allows me to zero at 100-meters, and dial 26-mils of elevation.
